So we are now 5 months into 2020 and I can honestly say it has been unbelievably awful. Not only has Coronavirus wreaked havoc on the world aided in no small part by the incompetent leadership of Boris Johnson but now there are protests and riots in the US.
My heart breaks at the horrific death of George Floyd who was murdered by a police officer. I am horrified by the actions of some police officers and the brutality. I do not condone racism in any form. I also do not condone those who attend protests purely to cause trouble. Black lives matter. All lives matter. There has to be an end to racism and treating people as ‘other.’
The words and actions of Donald Trump do nothing to salve the situation. I truly belueve that he is a white supremacist, racist, mysogynist, ignorant bully. I pray that he is not re-elected in November. The damage he has already done is more than enough.
As for Boris and his puppets under puppet master Dominic Cummings, where do I even begin?! The lies and the contempt with which they hold the electorate is staggering. I am so worried at the easing of lockdown in England and the lack of social distancing, I can see there being a second surge.
The UK government don’t care. They are only interested in themselves. They are doing everything they can to reduce parliamentary scrutiny and avoid any TV/ radio programmes where they are likely to be subject to any scrutiny. It is frightening, the UK is literally living in George Orwell’s novel 1984.
I hope the remaining 7 months of 2020 go quickly. I’m not one to wish my life away but quite honestly for this year I’ll make an exception.
