So with a majority government, the Conservative MP’s on December 20th 2019, voted in favour of Britain leaving the European Union. Brexit will happen on 31st January 2020. I know nothing will obviously change but it feels huge.

I live in Ireland so don’t vote in the UK but my family and friends live there. I visit regularly. I have a UK passport. I’ll have to queue in the non-EU line at the airport customs, it’ll feel very strange.

Once the UK has left, the business of negotiating trade deals will begin. It took over three years to get an exit agreement so heaven knows what will happen or how long it will take! Boris Johnson has said that he won’t extend beyond 31st December 2020. It seems like a tall ask.

I worry about the future for the UK. I don’t trust the UK government. I don’t trust that they have the interests of the people at heart. I worry that some people who voted for Brexit are harking back to a time of full employment, hot summers and cold winters that never existed in the first place.

The clock is ticking down to January 31st….watch this space

I'm 40 and fabulous! I love good wine, nice gin and good food. Prefer cosy nights in to wild nights out and am figuring out the rest as I go along!!
