I’ve always loved fireworks. I remember as a child getting wrapped up in my scarf, coat, hat and gloves and going down to the beach to watch the fireworks display for Bonfire Night. I loved all the different colours and patterns against the dark night sky. I also loved the smell and heat from the huge bonfire.
Fast forward to today. I still love fireworks but not the fact that they have consistently been let off almost every night for the past week. The timings for this has ranged from 8pm to 1am. This is despite the fact that a licence is needed to buy fireworks here in Ireland.
My cat does not like fireworks. Poor soul has jumped every time a firework goes off. He loves going out at night but that just isn’t possible right now. I feel really terrible for keeping him in but it has to be done. The worst of it is not knowing how much longer this random setting off of fireworks will last? Hopefully not much longer!
